Fee Brothers Aztec Chocolate Bitters
$10.49
/
Cocoa bitters from Fee Brothers, the Rochester family firm that has been making flavorings since 1863. The name nods to the ancient Aztec habit of celebrating with a bitter drink of cacao beans, peppers and spices.
Like the rest of the Fee Brothers range it is built on vegetable glycerin rather than a base spirit, a recipe the family credits with getting them through Prohibition. A dash or three brings cocoa depth to an Old Fashioned, and it is at home in tequila and mezcal drinks.
