Bols Genever Original

Made to the original 1820 Bols recipe, and the bottle that did more than any other to re-establish genever as an export category. Over half of it is maltwine, a whisky-like triple grain distillate of corn, wheat and rye, blended with a juniper distillate and a separate botanical distillate taking in coriander, caraway and aniseed.

Pine-forest juniper on the nose over a nutty, bready base with a delicate floral note. Resinous pine and eucalyptus on the palate with a zing of spice, rounded by that malty character, and a slightly bitter, burnt-toast finish. A true mixing spirit, and the historically correct base for a Collins or an Improved Holland Gin Cocktail.
