Bols Blue 1575 Liqueur

Lucas Bols mark 450 years of distilling with a rethink of the liqueur they are best known for. 1575 is the year the family began, and this is their ode to the classic blue liqueur, created at the Amsterdam distillery.

Distilled orange peel is blended with a botanical spiced rum, carrying island botanicals of vanilla, grains of paradise and cardamom, which lend warmth and a tropical spice the standard bottling does not have. Darker in the glass than Bols Blue Curacao, showing vanilla and cardamom on the nose with black pepper and a twist of orange zest, and a long cardamom-led finish. As much about spice as it is about orange. The bottle is made from half recycled glass and shaped after a West African djembe drum.
