Luxardo Sambuca

Sambuca dei Cesari, made from green Sicilian aniseed. The essential oils are drawn off by steam distillation, then macerated in pure spirit and matured in Finnish ash wood vats, which is unusual for the style. Luxardo use water from their own volcanic springs.

Crystal clear, with pine and cracked black pepper over anise and black licorice. Clean and rich on the palate, drier than it once was, with sugar held in check by the attack of alcohol and aniseed. Serve it neat with three coffee beans for a Sambuca con la mosca.
